About Us

Here at Harry's Tattoo Shop we strive for customer satisfaction and educating the public about the tattoo industry. The artwork done here is considered to be a form of art that is living.  We do not just tattoo.  The tattoo art form is centuries old and we strive to uphold the respect for it.  Tattoos are mainstream now, but always remember, its just not getting tattooed.  Its getting a piece of art that is personable, heartfelt, and respected as a living piece of art.As a graduate from Virginia Commonwealth University, with a degree in Commercial Arts & Design, there was absolutely no thought of Harry Aron ever becoming a tattoo artist. Harry Aron, owner of Harry’s Tattoo Shop in Danville, Virginia had a dream of becoming well known at his craft -- illustration.      In 1994 while doing a stint as a chemical technician, his boss asked him to do some airbrushing on his brand new FXR (Harley Davidson). With airbrushing skills in his background, Harry decided to take on the task. Once completed his boss David Varner entered his bike in a couple of shows and won awards for the paint job. From there a fellow that David had been buying parts from saw the bike and asked “Who is this Harry Aron”? After meeting with this guy several times, and several art projects later the fellow asked Harry if he would be interested in becoming a tattoo artist. Harry turned him down on three different occasions. He then started thinking “chemical or art”? Of course art won out, so Harry figured “What the hell”? It was a way to do his artwork.Harry was hired as an artist by Buster Mixon of Inkslingers in Durham, North Carolina. Harry paid his dues by sleeping on the floor of the shop. All the while building a new shop and commuting back and forth from Danville.  So started Harry’s career as a tattoo artist.Sixteen years and four shops later, Harry now owns his own studio in Danville, Virginia where he grew up. Moving from his previous location of seven years, Harry’s Tattoo Shop is now located on the main drag in Danville, “you know, where all the teenagers cruise on Friday and Saturday nights”. Amongst all the businesses around it’s a great location.       Harry offers custom black and grey tattooing, which is his favorite, but he does some awesome color too! He will accommodate any customer whether it be flash off the walls or something someone wants drawn just for them. There are so many different techniques and styles to choose from.Harry likes to stick with the realistic style. Since high school all of his drawings lend themselves to realism. Having 35 years of art background and teaching art classes at the community college, with a strive that won’t quit, this tattoo artist is well on his way to making a name for himself in the tattoo and art world.Published in over 20 different tattoo magazines and numerous other publications, Harry's work has been seen around the world.Having won numerous awards for his tattoo work and fine art work, it stands to say that Harry's work is well excepted around the world. His clients come from all corners of the globe, searching for artwork with the look of passion and love for the art.  Harry's love for the arts and passion and drive to succeed, is second to none and shows in his work and overall working with his clients. To receive one of Harry's art creations, call the studio for appointment booking and scheduling.
